Jorge Gomez is the Chief Financial Officer of Cardinal Health, where he is responsible for financial activities across the enterprise, including financial strategy, capital deployment, treasury, investor relations, tax planning and execution, accounting and external reporting.
Previously, Gomez served as chief financial officer of the Medical segment where he managed the financial strategy, M&A, performance tracking and capital development of the segment and led the Global Strategic Pricing team. Since joining Cardinal Health in 2006, Gomez has also served as chief financial officer of the Pharmaceutical segment, corporate treasurer and corporate controller. Additionally, he served as senior vice president of Corporate Development in an interim period from 2009-2010.
Before joining Cardinal Health, Gomez held multiple executive and managerial roles at General Motors, including posts in New York, Singapore, Belgium, and Brazil. He began his career with Jefferson Smurfit in their finance development program.
Gomez serves on the board of directors for Xylem, Inc., a global water management company. Previously, he also served on the boards of the Cardinal Health Foundation, Mount Carmel Health System, Red Oak Sourcing, the Business Advisory Council at Miami University, and the Dublin Food Pantry.
Gomez earned a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from the National University of Colombia and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Hartford. Gomez is fluent in English, Spanish and Portuguese.
